DBD Biz Registration launches on 1 July 2025

Key Takeaways

  • From 1 July 2025, Thailand’s Department of Business Development will retire its legacy e-Registration system and require all partnership and private limited company filings to be submitted exclusively via the new DBD Biz Regist platform.
  • DBD Biz Regist introduces full digital execution, including electronic signatures, on-platform generation and download of certified corporate documents, plus an online consent-form process affirming application accuracy.
  • Account creation and identity verification occur entirely online (via ThaID, NDID or the DBD e-Service for foreign nationals), with in-person registrar verification retained as an alternative.

Thailand continues to streamline business processes

As Thailand continues to adapt practices that increase its ease of doing business, the authorities are currently in the process of issuing regulations with regards to online registration for partnerships and private limited companies.

The Department of Business Development (DBD) (in Thai: กรมพัฒนาธุรกิจการค้า), Thailand’s governmental authority for doing business in the country, recently enacted regulations that results in the closure of the legacy ‘e-Registration’ platform.

With the closure of the e-Registration platform announced, the DBD will transition to the ‘DBD Biz Regist’ platform, which intends to further modernise and organise online registration for businesses in Thailand.

What does this mean for businesses in Thailand?

From 1 July 2025, the DBD will not accept paper-based applications from businesses doing business in Thailand.

For all corporate registration applications for partnerships and private limited companies, they must be submitted online via the DBD’s Biz Regist System.

In 2024, the DBD introduced the DBD Biz Regist system under the regulation issued by the Office of Central Company and Partnership Registration. During the transition period, paper-based filings remained available but are now being completely phased out.

Key principles of DBD Biz Regist

  • Electronic signatures
The DBD Biz Regist system will support the use of electronic signatures without requiring the official signing the document to be present for the physical signing of documentation.
  • Certified corporate documentation
Once the registration process via the DBD Biz Regist system has been completed, the certified official corporate documentation will be available to be downloaded via the DBD Biz Regist system.
  • Consent Form requirements
Upon approval of an online application by the DBD registrar, the system will generate an official consent form for execution by the designated parties to the form. This document attests to the accuracy of the information submitted in the registration application. To ensure that application conforms to the necessary consent requirements, an applicant car print, manually sign, and then re-upload the form. Further, the applicant can execute it electronically via the DBD Biz Regist platform.
  • Submitting online and verifying identification
The registration process is conducted exclusively through digital channels. Applicants shall establish an account on the DBD Biz Regist website and complete identity verification online via ThaID, the National Digital ID (NDID), or the DBD e-Service application, the sole electronic verification method currently available to foreign nationals residing in Thailand. Alternatively, in-person verification before a DBD registrar remains available for the foreseeable future.
